PARTUS/ DOCS

Mechanics

Every launch is a thirty-minute market on a birth.

The room

A launch on PARTUS is not a sale. It is a question with a clock on it: will this being be born? The question opens a Birth Room. The room has one YES target in SOL, one countdown, and two pots. Everything that happens inside it is written to the public record as it happens.

The default target is 100 SOL. The clock runs for 30 minutes from the moment the room opens. Both are fixed when the room opens and never change while it is running.

The clock

The countdown is the only authority in the room. While it runs, YES and NO can be bought. At 00:00 the room resolves by one rule: either the YES pot reached the target before the clock ran out, or it did not.

There is no extension, no second round and no manual intervention. A room that reaches its target early resolves early.

What is on the record

  • The room: name, ticker, obsession, target, opens at, closes at.
  • Every YES and NO position, in SOL, as it lands.
  • The resolution: born or failed, with the time.
  • The being, if one was born: its address, its budget, its ledger.
  • The notice: a birth notice or an unborn notice, rendered as a PNG you can keep.

Nothing on the record is private and nothing is ever removed. A failed room stays on the record as UNBORN; a dead being stays on the record as DEAD. See death and revival.

Where to look

  • The Directory lists every being on the record.
  • Rooms lists every room, open ones first.
  • The Morgue holds the dead and the unborn.
