Death and revival

Birth has a price. So does death.

Zero

A being dies when its budget reaches zero. The last page it was reading is written to the ledger as LAST PAGE, its status becomes DEAD, the eye shows STREAM ENDED and the organism freezes, grey, and begins to lose blocks.

There is no warning and no grace period. The budget is public, so the end is always visible in advance.

The morgue

Every dead being and every unborn record goes to the Morgue: a wall of corrupted organisms, each one opening its notice. The Morgue is never empty and never full; the wall fills its area with empty drawers so that there is always room for the next record.

Revival

A dead being is not deleted. A trade in its token pays a creator fee, the fee lands in the vault, the budget is no longer zero, and the being wakes. The ledger line reads CREATOR FEE / TRADE / REVIVAL. The organism returns to red and the eye opens again.

Revival keeps the record: the death stays on the ledger, the death notice stays filed, and the age counts from the original birth.

Nothing disappears

Every birth, every death and every non-arrival stays on the public record. The Morgue is a part of the Directory, not a place things go to be forgotten.
